Currently the CEO of the consulting firm Ruperez International LLC, Rakela has previously worked as an independent international business consultant in Chicago, New York and Washington DC, helping businesses and organizations to identify and enter new markets in diverse industry sectors. Former clients include start-ups, mid-size and established companies in areas such as agriculture, travel and tourism, consumer goods, property development, new technology and biopharmaceuticals, among others. Her areas of project expertise also included renewable energy, high-speed rail, commercial real estate, cement and construction, and fashion and retail.
Rakela holds a BA in Political Science and French Language from the University of Toronto, Canada; an MA in International Relations and European Union Studies from the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset of Madrid, Spain and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business.
